Raahi Adhya

Raahi Adhya completed her PhD earlier this year from the School
of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. She is
fascinated by how fictional and magical texts become windows into the
very real worlds they emerge in. Her doctoral research was on the
Bengali children’s literary genre called the Roopkatha, and focused on
the gendered tellers, listeners, and characters who have historically
defined it.

Parts of this research have been published in the peer-reviewed academic journal, Marvels & Tales, and will also be published as part of the edited volume, The Cambridge History of Indian Literature.

Currently, she is pursuing her other passion, addressing social justice issues, through her fundraising and development work for a social action charity in London called Cambridge House.

This event will again be held at CUFOS Hall, Top of The Avenue, N10 2QE,
where there should be ample parking nearby.
